August Preview Day 1: Astronaut & Aliens, Outer Space Die, Happy Little Flowers, and Layering Tag Die

Hello, and welcome to day 1 of our August previews. We have a packed preview day for you. We are going to go out of this world and then visit some cute little flowers.

Our first stamp set was created by Roberto and features Henry and Pepper as Astronauts with 3 little Alien friends.

Card #1 Features Henry as an Astronaut with his side kick Pepper. Pepper can zoom back and forth across the card with a little pop dot and clear vellum. I used the Birthday Dots Stencil with Stickles and stenciled on the inner part of the In & Out Circle Die. The stars and Saturn are die cuts from the new Outer Space Die.

I used Banner Die to make the black banner that I stamped the sentiment on, which the sentiment came from the Astronaut and Aliens Clear Stamp Set. I used the Embossing Ink Pad and Gold Embossing Powder from Ranger. The Embossing Ink went on so smoothly and didn't leave any breaks in the letters of the sentiment. I finished the card of with Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots.

Card #2 features 2 of the 3 Aliens from the Astronaut and Aliens Clear Set. I used my fast and simple card design. I layer 2-3 pieces of cardstock that coordinate with the colors of my images. I then pick out 2-3 Distress Reinkers and smooch them on an acrylic block. I then add a spritz of water to them, I take a paint brush and pick up a little of one of the colors and flick onto the white cardstock, I continue until I have done all the colors.

For this card I cut out the sentiment in a rectangle and layered with purple cardstock. I added my images, having them stand on the sentiment layer. And finally I finish the card off with Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots.

The second stamp set we are previewing today is Happy Little Flowers. There are 6 cheerful flowers in the set, they have a coordinating outline die that can be purchased separately.

Card #1 features my fast and simple layout. I layered 2 pieces of cardstock that coordinate with the colors of my images. I used the In & Out Rectangle Die for the purple layer. I then picked out 2 Distress Reinkers and smooch them on an acrylic block. I then add a spritz of water to them, I take a paint brush and pick up a little of one of the colors and flick onto the white cardstock.

For this card I cut out the sentiment using the Banners Die. I rolled the center of the banner to make it stand up off the card. To finish the card off I used Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots.

Card #2 isn't a card but a canner I made using the Layering Tag as the banner part. I used brown and white cardstock and cut out the two sizes for the banner. I used and old die to add the pink overlay at the top. I then used the Olive You Alphabets & Numbers to do the letters. After I attached the letters I added white dots with acrylic paint.

On the blank banner space at the end I attached a magnet. I took different stamped images and turned them into magnets. To make the images into magnets you need chipboard, magnets sheets, cardstock, black pen (optional), stamp, and outline die. Stamp the image in the white cardstock. Cut out the image with the outline die, also using the outline die cut one magnet and one chipboard. You can take the black pen and go around the edges of the chipboard paper, otherwise you will have a white layer, a tan layer, and then a black layer. Glue all the parts together.

Those aliens are simply adorable. Henry and Pepper have arrived at a good time with the 50 years since the lunar landing. Love them.
