August Preview Day 2: Costume Monsters, Swiss Pixie Halloween, Make-A-Monster, and Unicorn Halloween
Posted by CHRISTINE WOODEN
Hello, and welcome to day 2 of our August previews. We have a packed preview day for you. We are going to go haunting with some cute Costume Littles and then visit the Swiss Pixies.
The first set that is previewing today is Costume Littles. These 8 little monsters are just the cutest thing ever. They have a coordinating outline die that you can purchase separately.
Card #1 features the little character I think looks like a swamp monster. I did a lot of layering of pattern paper on this card, it was some old Doodlebug Designs that I had laying around. I just cut them in rectangles.
The sentiment was stamped with Black Olive Ink on the smallest banner in the Large Banner Set. And then I finished off the card with some enamel dots.
Card #2 isn't a card but a banner. I cut out the banner pieces using my paper cutter and layered pattern paper on top. I then used the inner part of the In & Out Circle Die to cut the white circles that the letters are attached to. The letters are from an old die set we used to have, but you could easily substitute in the Olive You Alphabet & Number set.
I used the Halloween Die to add the fun spider and bat embellishments. I used the rounded banner from the Trio Collage die to add the orange banner to the "o", and then added a star from the Outer Space Die set on top. The teal colored tag is from the new set Layering Tag. I finished off the banner with some Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots.
The second set is 2 Swiss Pixies dressed up ready for some spooking.
Card #1 is little Witch with her broom and cauldron of green slime. When I colored her I gave her face a green ting to make her look more witchy. I used the Birthday Dots Stencil and green Stickles to create the design on the cardstock and then used the Quad Collage die to do the background overlay, replacing two of the panels with black cardstock.
I cut the sentiment out using the Large Banner Die, having stamped the sentiment with Black Olive Ink. I used one of the eyeballs from the new Make-A-Monster pop doting it over the purple banner. I finished the card up with Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots.
Card #2 is our Vampire Girl. I added a bit of BV00 to her face to give her the sickly Dracula look. I also used paired red and purple together on her card and I think they look smashing!
I used the fast and easy layout, layer 2 different color cardstocks. Then I used 2 different distress inks for the splatter marks. On this card I cut out the sentiment and layered it with some purple cardstock. I finished the card up with some Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots.
Do you want to Make-A-Monster? This set is so much fun. There are 4 main monster parts and then many accessories to dress them up with. Here is what they look like using the designated pieces. But you can have so much fun mixing and matching parts.
You had so much fun playing with our Unicorn Sets: Bow, Cupcake, and Flower. Well now you can get them dressed for Halloween. The set features parts to make a vampire, witch, pumpkin, and more.
Some of our Design Team Members are also having previews today on their blogs
