Clean Simple and One Layer Thanks Animal Postage Card

Clean & Simple Doesn't Have to be boring!  You can create some fun looks even with one layer cards with a little thought about what techniques you want to use to make them stand out.  When I looked at the both the Sticky Notes Sayings Stamp Set; I was drawn to the little postage stamp image.  I knew the cute little animals from the Animals Notes Stamp Set would be fun to add into a few postage stamp images.  So, I had to think about how I could create a row of postage stamps with cute animals without there being over stamping and everything had to stand out.  That's when I pulled out some plain old post-its to use as simple masking.  

I started in the center of my card base and stamped the postage stamp image from the Sticky Notes Sayings Stamp Set.  I used a couple post it notes to mask off the top line of the postage and stamped another postage stamp. I repeated this process top and bottom masking off each area where I would be stamping the next postage image until I filled up the right hand side of my card front.  

Next it was time to fill in each of the postage stamps with one of the cute little animals from the Animal Notes Stamp Set.  So I pulled out my post-its again and masked off the inside line of the postage stamp image and stamped one of the adorable animals into each postage stamp. 

I repeated the masking process until I had one of the animals in each of the postage stamps.  Then I could pull out my alcohol markers and color the animals and the background of each postage stamp.  I added a drop shadow to right hand side of the stack of postage stamps using some gray markers.  And finished the design by adding a little ink blending and the stamped thanks with a little twine bow as a simple embellishment for this card.
