Create 3 Totally Different Cards From One Stamp Set!

Hey, crafty friends!  It’s Rick here, and I’m so excited to be sharing a fun project with you today! If you’re like me, you love a good stamp set that gives you endless possibilities. That’s exactly what I found with the Catch 'Em All Stamp Set from C.C. Designs. This set is absolutely adorable, featuring little characters dressed up as some of our favorite childhood creatures, and it has quickly become one of my go-to sets for all kinds of fun card designs.

I’ve been playing around with this set and wanted to show just how versatile it can be. In this post, I’m going to walk you through three completely different cards made with the same stamp set. Whether you’re in the mood for something soft and sweet, bold and graphic, or even a little shaker action, the Catch 'Em All Stamp Set can do it all. Let’s dive in!

Soft & Sweet Scene Card

For my first card, I wanted to create a soft, serene background that would really highlight the little character in the Catch 'Em All Stamp Set. I stamped the image in alcohol marker friendly black ink and used my Ohuhu Brush Markers to color her in, adding soft shading to her outfit and features. Then, I used a blending brush to add a gentle sky and grassy ground with green ink and teal ink. The blending gives a peaceful, dreamy feel to the card that contrasts perfectly with the character’s fun outfit.

Pro Tip: When ink blending, always start light and build up your layers. This will help avoid harsh lines and give you that soft gradient look that feels effortless.

Bold Comic-Inspired Design

Next up, I went for something completely different with a graphic, comic-book style card. This time, I stamped the little character in gray ink onto light gray cardstock, giving the whole thing a cool, modern feel. I used darker gray cardstock to add an ink-blended shadow beneath the image, which gave the card depth without overwhelming the design. I colored the character using Cool Gray Copic Markers and stamped a bold sentiment to finish it off. To really bring out the comic vibe, I added some fun white gel pen highlights.

Pro Tip: For a comic book effect, try stamping your image twice—once in a neutral tone and once in a darker color for the shadow. This layering technique adds an instant “pop” to your design!

Fun Shaker Card

For the third card, I wanted to shake things up a bit—literally! I created a shaker card using the Catch 'Em All Stamp Set to add some playful movement. After stamping and coloring my image, I created a frame from black cardstock and added a window sheet to give the shaker a clean, polished look. I used some leftover ink from my blending brushes to add a little subtle color to the background, and then filled the shaker with sequins for that fun, interactive feel. It’s such an easy way to make a card feel extra special.

Pro Tip: When making shaker cards, be sure to use foam adhesive strips around the frame to create enough space for your sequins to move around. You don’t want them to get stuck!

Final Thoughts

I had such a great time creating these cards with the Catch 'Em All Stamp Set from C.C. Designs. Whether you’re looking to make a peaceful scene, a bold statement, or a fun interactive card, this set is perfect for bringing all your ideas to life. The best part? You only need one set to create all these different looks, proving just how versatile a single stamp set can be!

I hope you feel inspired to pull out your Catch 'Em All Stamp Set and start creating your own unique designs. I’d love to see what you come up with, so be sure to share your creations!
