February Preview Day 2: Spring Things and Clouds & Grass Die
Posted by CHRISTINE WOODEN
It's day 2 of our previews. The new release will be available tomorrow at noon cst.
There is a new die called Cloud and Grass. It has a cloud line and two different grasses, a hilly grass, and a straight line of grass. The grasses can be layered together or used by themselves. A lot of the cards in the post today use the die set.
Card #1 is the cute little flower. The card is an A2 size (5 1/2" x 4 1/4"), and I layered on top of it pattern paper from the new paper pad Razzle Dazzle. I used the In & Out Square Die to cut out the blue dots pattern paper from the Hearts & Dots Paper Pad. The inside of the square is blue cardstock with a strip of grass from the Cloud & Grass Die.
The little flower and flower kid were both colored with Copics and then I added white enhancements with an Uni White Pen. The banner that the sentiment is on is from the Banners Die, which I stamped with embossing ink and white embossing powder.
I finished off the card with Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots.
Card #2 is the little girl in an egg. This card is smaller than usual at 4 1/2" x 4". I started with a white cardstock base and layered with dark pink cardstock and then pink heart paper from Hearts & Dots Paper Pad. On top of the pattern paper is watercolor paper. I grabbed pink, orange, yellow, and green Distress Inks, watered them down and then painted the rainbow background.
The tree and fence is from the Easter Town Clear Stamp set which I colored with Copics. The eggs, butterfly, and sentiment are from the Easter Cuties Clear Stamp Set, I stamped the butterflies directly onto the watercolor paper. And the little girl and basket are from the new set Spring Things. I just love how all 3 of the stamp sets coordinate so well together. I also cut out the grass at the bottom with the new Cloud and Grass Die.
The banner that the sentiment is stamped on, and the flower are both from the Quad Collage Die.
Card #3 is my favorite stamp out of this set, the little ducky guy. I partnered him with the chick stamp from the set. The card is A2 sized and layered with orange dot paper from the Hearts & Dots Paper Pad, and then white cardstock.
I used yellow and orange distress ink, watered down to create the splatters on the white paper. The sentiment is stamped on black cardstock cut out using Banners Die. I then used embossing ink and white embossing powder to make the sentiment pop. To finish the card I used Razzle Dazzle Shiny Enamel Dots in the yellow and orange color.
Card #4 I created a little spring scene. The rectangle is from In & Out Rectangles Die, and I did the in piece in sky blue cardstock. I used the clouds from Cloud & Grass Die at the top of the paper, and then I stamped the sentiment right onto it. I added 2 Razzle Dazzle Clear Enamel Dots next to the sentiments.
The cloud, tulip, and bunny girl are from the new clear stamp set Spring Things. The butterfly is from Easter Cuties Clear Stamps. I used both of the grasses from the Clouds & Grass die, layering them to create a little depth in the card.
And our last card #5 is a cute little bug. The green cardstock was stamped with flowers from Easter Cuties Clear Set. I used the In & Out Square Die to create the background for the little bug to be popped up on.
The banner, flower, and corner decorations are all from the Quad Collage Die. I used the longest banner and shortest banner from Banners Die for the sentiment, which I stamped on the dark pink cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
